		<description>you are right that people rarely name things for what they are. it is easier (for the person saying it) to say, ' sorry to hear about your mum', than naming what happened. 'I am sad to hear you Mum died of cancer'. but is it not easier for the person bereaved. It denies them the importance of their loss.
